I spent an evening last week wandering around the gardens of Elm Bank in Wellesley, MA, enjoying a LOT of really gorgeous, local art. The best part was the artists were live-painting right then and there! I’m pretty mesmerized by paint, so this was a very cool event. Elm Bank also hosted tours of the gardens and there was a string quartet playing music all night!

Thank God for Instagram or I wouldn’t have even known about the event! I’ve followed Carolyn Mackin and Julia Blake on Instagram for well over a year now and have always admired their unique styles of work. I knew they were both local artists, but never had a chance to meet them… until last week at this event! Because they posted about it on Insta! It was so great to meet them in person, chat about art and enjoy their work in real life.
